Engineering leader with 13 years building products, 7 of them at Mavenoid, where I grew from Senior Frontend Engineer to Head of Engineering as the company scaled from 8 to 60 people. I lead the department through the shift to LLM-powered products, pairing a long-term technical vision with fast experimentation. Frontend specialist by background, still hands-on across the stack, from system architecture to bug triage.

   1. Head of Engineering

      Jun 2024 – present

      Member of the management team, reporting to the CEO. I lead the engineering department, a lean team of 10 senior to principal fullstack and ML engineers that owns the entire platform: admin and customer-facing UIs, Voice Assist, self-hosted ML models, integrations with external providers, the analytics pipeline and deployments. We release daily and aim to ship at least 2–3 major, customer-announced features every 3-week sprint.

      • Took Voice Assist, a new LLM-powered product channel, from idea to experiment to launch. It generated $120K ARR within 3 months of launch. Hands-on as architect: designed a system that runs several LLMs concurrently, to moderate requests and to keep the call flowing with fillers while slower steps like RAG run. With the team, designed its content model so it fits the existing platform and hands off to and from the Digital Assistant.
      • Own bug triage for the whole platform. Having built much of it, I can quickly pinpoint what broke from a bug report, weigh it with the VP of Product, and route it to the right engineer.
      • Co-lead continuous product and engineering planning with the VP of Product, and build and run focus groups to scope larger initiatives.
      • Designed the interview process for every engineering role and was hiring manager for 6 senior engineers. Interviewed 200+ candidates at Mavenoid in coding and hiring-manager interviews, as well as for senior product and designer roles.
      • Handled performance management end to end, including exits, and reorganized teams, for example merging teams to improve delivery efficiency. Coached a fullstack engineer to step in as acting Head of Engineering during my parental leave.
      • Owned the ISO 27001 and SOC 2 renewals and managed an external vCISO. Both passed with zero major findings.

   2. Tech Lead Manager

      Oct 2021 – Jun 2024

      Led the team that owned Mavenoid's entire admin area, from scoping to delivery. Split my time between managing the team (2 direct reports) and staff-level technical work, owning the admin area's architecture and technical direction. We shipped:

      • A flow-builder interface with version history and real-time multiplayer editing.
      • A CMS built for large-scale content, with bulk editing, search-and-replace and bulk auto-translation.
      • Mavenoid's AI-generation features, from text to custom structured data.

   3. Senior Frontend Engineer

      Jul 2019 – Oct 2021
      • Owned the frontend platform: scoping, planning, choice of tools and growing the frontend team.
      • Rebuilt Mavenoid's canvas interface in 6 weeks as a bespoke React implementation. It edits graphs of 1,000+ nodes at 60 FPS, where the previous D3 version couldn't handle more than 100.

   • Daniel Wellington

     Senior Frontend Engineer 2018 – 2019

     Hired as the React expert for the move from a Magento (PHP) webshop to a React and Gatsby site. Got the team up to speed on React and set internal best practices, such as Emotion instead of Sass. With about 40,000 pages, it was one of the largest Gatsby sites at the time (I wrote about it on the Gatsby blog). Led the creation of a framework-agnostic component library used in production by 4 teams across React and Vue products.

   • Fyndiq

     Frontend Engineer 2015 – 2018

     Led the migration of the shopping app from jQuery and Backbone to React, introducing Webpack, ESLint and Jest along the way. The migration cut the mobile website's size by 20%. Built an open-source component library used by 5 internal and external sites.

   • Domora

     Co-founder 2013 – 2015

     Co-founded a hardware startup for interoperable connected devices, in a team of 4. Defined, designed and built the mobile app. Also ran marketing, including the Indiegogo campaign and the product website.
